John O- Really beautiful work and I like you photo studio too.

John H- Check out Frank Ford's site. Somewhere in all that information there is a discription (with pictures) of his homemade setup.

Brock,

The inlay stuff on the guitar is Gold Mother of Pearl. I used white dots and gold diamonds in the rosette/fretboard but the logo is Gold MOP. I really like the Gold MOP.

Steve,

COngrats on the saw, I hope you like it as much as I like mine.

The rest of you,

Thanks for all the nice comments.

Note: the lights are hot, so using the corkscrew lights is appealling. Also I don't get a lot of light in that area of the room so shooting at day or night is not a concidertion.

I checked out Franks setup, Bruce but I can just go to wallmart and get this one. In fact I did just that tonight. Haven't fooled with it yet but will soon. Hopefully I won't catch my shop on fire with these lamps.John How38567.6535069444

Barry,

That is Brazilian Rosewood. I got that set from Allied when they were selling it. Actually the guy who owns this guitar went and picked it out. I dried it in my shop for over a year before I started building with it. It was almost 2 years ok that I got that set here in the shop. It is a really amazing piece...

It is a lefty but it seemed to sound good, the owner "loves" it so I guess it does sound good. It was a fun guitar to make.

Was that from when they had the sale on parlor size BZ at Allied back around January '04? I got a couple sets then that look somewhat similar to that. I'm gonna build a whole bunch with my $18 "opportunity grade" rosewood sets before I start cutting on the Brazilian.
